Cleveland Alumnae Panhellenic Association |
What is a sorority? Sororities are national or international sisterhoods with chapters at accredited colleges and universities. As extended family units, sororities offer warm, caring atmospheres which encourage individual development. This sisterhood lasts long after the collegiate days are over. Alumnae women continue to stay involved in their local alumnae chapters and/or serve as advisors to collegiate chapters. Sororities truly "span a lifetime". Why join? Sororities promote sound scholarship, leadership ability, community outreach, and life-long friendships. All sororities embrace philanthropies supported by collegiate and alumnae chapters. Philanthropies may include aid to handicapped children and adults, support of national health-related organizations, assistance to disadvantaged women and children, or support of educational and literacy programs.
